The YMCA of Metro North is a local charitable organization dedicated to strengthening communities by offering programs and services focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. In 2020 we are eager to award high school seniors, vocational training students, and/or current college students from our service area the fourth annual Y Champion Scholarship, ranging from $1000-$2000 each, for their personal work strengthening their community and displaying the YMCA values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  •  Applicant must be one of the following: YMCA of Metro North member, staff, or live or attend school in our service area (Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Melrose, Peabody, Revere, Saugus and Stoneham).
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are members or otherwise have ties to the YMCA.
  • Applicant must be a graduating senior of an accredited public, private, parochial, vocational or charter high school and must be accepted to an accredited institution of higher education or vocational training program OR currently enrolled and attending an institution of higher education or vocational training program.
  • Applicant must be willing to speak at our Y Champions Celebration Breakfast on May 21, 2020.
