Groom Construction Scholarship
FOR SENIORS
Groom Construction Co., Inc., a Salem, Massachusetts based general contracting firm is awarding up to $2500 to a deserving applicant pursuing a construction-related career through either the academic track or a Massachusetts apprenticeship. Up to three (3) awards will be given each year.
Two of the awards are the Groom Construction Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship (DE&I). The Groom DE&I Scholarship is aimed at attracting individuals to the construction field from historically underrepresented demographics such as women, and people of Hispanic, Black and Asian backgrounds. Groom realizes the importance of attracting individuals from more diverse backgrounds to the construction industry for the overall health and success of the industry.
The second scholarship, the Groom Construction Management Scholarship is for any individual entering the construction management field through an academic track
An applicant must be a current resident of Essex County, Massachusetts, and entering a post high school or High School Equivalency construction related academic or apprentice program, including but not limited to: Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, and Construction Trade. An applicant should demonstrate a strong work ethic, high moral character, and a sincere interest for the industry.
To be considered for either Groom Construction scholarship:
1. Complete the scholarship application form. Please indicate for which scholarship you would like to be considered.
2. Provide a copy of your high school transcript or high school equivalency diploma.
3. Provide a letter of recommendation or a contact name and phone number for a reference from either a teacher, employer, coach, mentor, or other member of the community. This individual should provide insight to your character, sincere interest in a career in the construction industry and ability to be successful in your pursuit of such a career.
Please return application, transcript and any letter of reference to Groom Construction by April 30, 2021.
