Boston Children’s Hospital’s Trauma and Community Resilience Center’s Inter-ethnic Youth Advisory Board (I-YAB)

The Boston Children’s Hospital’s Trauma and Community Resilience Center (BCH TCRC) is looking for twelve young leaders (ages 15 to 17 years) from across Massachusetts who are passionate about violence prevention and want to make a difference in their community through participation in our Inter-ethnic Youth Advisory Board (I-YAB).

We believe that youth resilience building is fundamental to violence prevention through increasing sense of belonging, enhancing inter-ethnic group understanding, developing leadership and advocacy skills, and promoting civic engagement. We are committed to giving youth the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become leaders in youth violence prevention and to enhance resilience in their communities.

We seek to engage a diverse group of youth to carry out the I-YAB mission. Massachusetts adolescents of all races and ethnicities, gender identities and sexual orientations, and migration statuses are welcome. Youth do not need to have any prior experience serving on an advisory board to get involved.

Do you know a youth who is already a leader in their community, or has a desire to become a leader and has an interest in youth violence prevention or public health? Please share this opportunity!

See our website for more information and view the application here.

We are accepting applications for I-YAB membership through Friday, March 19th, 2021. Please reach out directly to Alisa Miller, PhD at alisa.miller@childrens.harvard.edu if you or a youth you know has any questions!
