The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund – REMINDER
FOR SENORS
The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others (in school, their community, or at home), a strong work ethic, good character, part-time employment, and leadership qualities. The Fund also values demonstrated grit and resiliency in students who have faced significant challenges. Applicants may be high school seniors, recent high school graduates or current college students. Annual awards range from $3,000 to $8,000 ($12,000 to $32,000 total over four years). Despite the turmoil of last spring, the Fund was able to administer over 500 new and renewal awards for the 2020-21 academic year totaling well over $3 million. These included nearly 50 donor-funded scholarships and a special COVID Relief award that was provided to 40 Phillips Scholars this fall. The Fund is now preparing for next spring. High School students who have received the financial aid packages from their preferred colleges may apply by April 2, 2021 in order to receive the Fund’s decision before the May 1, 2021 college common reply date. The Fund hopes that this strategy allows students a better understanding of their finances before they select a school. 2021-2022 Application Deadlines and Dates
