Voices of Tufts Diversity Experience
FOR JUNIORS – The below message is from Tufts University
Greetings from Tufts University!
We are excited to share that we will once again be hosting the Voices of Tufts Diversity Experience, and that the nomination form for the October 2022 program is now open!
Voices, our signature fly-in program, is designed to provide seniors who attend high school in the US with firsthand exposure to diversity and community at Tufts University.
About Tufts:
Tufts University is a medium-sized research university just outside of Boston, Massachusetts where students are as intellectually playful as they are powerful, and are as eager to study decolonization as they are Marvel comics. Tufts University meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need of all admitted students, regardless of citizenship status. Students pursue 150+ majors and minors across our School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering, and School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
About Voices:
The Voices of Tufts Diversity Experience is designed to give high school seniors a firsthand sense of “life on the Hill” through mock classes, conversations and panels with current students, and opportunities to connect with our identity-based resource centers. We plan to host Voices virtually and in-person this October.
There is no cost to participate in Voices, and all students who apply to Voices will have the application fee waived if they choose to apply for admission to Tufts University.
Who can be nominated?
Any rising senior who attends high school in the U.S. can be nominated. While Voices has traditionally attracted participants from underrepresented backgrounds – including but not limited to students of color, first generation college-bound students, LGBTQIA+ students, students from low-income backgrounds, students with disabilities, and students from rural communities – any student interested in learning about diversity on the Tufts campus is welcome to apply. We seek primarily to invite students who are kind, collaborative, civically-engaged, and interested in creating a more inclusive world.
Nominations are due by June 15, 2022.
All nominated students will be contacted directly and encouraged to apply for Voices once the program application opens this summer.
Students typically accepted to Tufts University have:
– GPA close to a 4.0 or better
– average SAT score of 1465
– average ACT score of 33
If you are sincerely interested in applying to Tufts University, have close to a 4.0 GPA or higher, and would like to attend the Diversity Experience, see YOUR guidance counselor to be nominated.
