  • The Early Response to New Application for High School Students is for high school students who would like a decision by May 1, have the financial aid package from the college which they plan to attend, and can complete an application by April 3. Any student who misses the April 3 deadline can continue to work on their application and submit it by May 1. Early applicants will receive a decision by late April.
  • Financial Eligibility Calculator. Please encourage your students to use this before beginning an application. Important factors:
  • The “Eligibility” figure needs to be $7,000 or higher.
  • We endeavor to award students with a Student Aid Index (SAI) no higher than $13,000.
  • If a student has an eligibility figure below $7,000 and/or a SAI above $13,000, but believe they have special circumstances (such as a recent job loss or significant change to the family financial or living situation), they may be able to request that the financial aid office(s) reconsider the amount of their SAI. Using their professional judgment, the financial aid office(s) may be able to reduce the SAI. The Phillips Scholarship cannot adjust a SAI due to financial changes but can honor a change made by a financial aid office.
  • We continue to accept applications from students who are non-citizens with a current lawful presence (DACA, TPS, SIJ, Asylum seeker). These students have employment authorization but are not eligible for federal student aid. Applicants should be prepared to email a copy of their Form I-797, Notice of Action or other appropriate documentation, if their application proceeds to the semi-finalist stage. Applicants not completing a FAFSA must fill out our FAFSA Non-Filer Financial Form.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

In addition to the financial criteria, we will look very closely at each new applicant’s:

  • Academic achievement & appropriateness of field of study in college
  • Sustained community service, helping activities, and/or family responsibilities
  • Part-time work or a compelling reason for not working.
  • Writing ability – the formal essay can be a pre-written piece of writing, but beyond a good writing sample we appreciate learning about the applicant. They should use this opportunity to share more about themselves!
  • New college applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as they have their 2025-2026 FSS and Fall 2024 grades. They will use their current year financial aid award (2024-2025) since their award packages for 2025-2026 will not be calculated until summer.

Asian Pacific Community Fund (APCF)

The Asian Pacific Community Fund (APCF) is excited to announce that our 2025 scholarship applications are now open! We are offering over $400,000 in scholarship funding to high school seniors in their support of higher education.

Eligibility

We have several scholarship opportunities available for students who fit these criteria:

  • High School Seniors or First-Year College Students
  • Plan to attend a U.S. Accredited 4-Year College/University or Community College in Fall 2025
  • Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5
  • Household income at or below County Low Income Level, or demonstrated financial need

Delta Kappa Gamma Society Scholarship

FOR SENIORS

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The DKG Epsilon Chapter is offering a $750 scholarship to a member of the Class of 2025.

In order to be eligible, the following criteria must be met:

  1. The applicant must be a female high school student who resides in a DKG member community (Lynn, MA) in Essex County.
  2. The applicant must be pursuing a degree in education at a four-year college or university.
  3. The applicant must demonstrate leadership qualities and participate in school and community activities.

Order Sons and Daughters of Italy Scholarship

FOR SENIORS

A minimum of twenty (20) scholarships at a maximum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) each shall be awarded annually by the Charitable and Educational Trust of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America.

Scholarship awards shall be awarded on the following basis: Scholastic Ability, Character, and Activities.

Boston North Cancer Association Scholarship

FOR SENIORS

BNCA restricts college scholarship funding to applicants who reside in one of the following communities:

Amesbury, Beverly, Danvers, Essex, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Ipswich, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Merrimac. Middleton, Nahant, Newbury, Newburyport, Peabody, Rockport, Salem, Salisbury, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wenham, West Newbury.

One applicant will be selected for each scholarship category from a competitive application process. BNCA will notify applicants about award decisions. These are one-time, non-renewable $5,000 scholarships. Additional scholarships may be awarded.

The scholarship awards will be presented at a special reception on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Danversport in Danvers. The scholarship award recipients are required to attend (exceptions may be granted by the scholarship committee). In order to secure the scholarship payment, scholarship recipients must submit written documentation from the college/university to BNCA indicating that the recipients are actively enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester.

  2. Physician Letter: Please include a signed letter from your physician on official letterhead verifying that you qualify for this scholarship with a past or present cancer diagnosis for yourself or parent. Include with the online application.

The submission of a scholarship application shall constitute the applicant’s authorization to Boston North Cancer Association, Inc. to use the applicant’s personal information and photographs for the purpose of promoting the association.

67th Annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Awards Program

FOR SENIORS

We are pleased to announce the 67th Annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Awards Program.  All graduating seniors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking a college degree or job training are eligible to compete.

To qualify, students must be a senior in high school, fill out the online application, and then take the exam offered at LEHS.  Applicants must register in advance at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships.  Applications will be accepted through Friday, December 20, 2024.  The deadline is firm and no late registrations will be accepted.

The exam is offered online and consists of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay.  All questions will be selected from the information in the study guide.  All study resources, including the study guide, flash cards, and quizzes are available at www.learnlaborhistory.com.

Transportation YOU High School Scholarship

FOR SENIORS

The minimum criteria for selection are as follows:

  • Applicant must be a high school senior
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Currently studying math, science, and technology
  • Considering a college degree in a transportation-related field
  • Applicants can win this particular scholarship only once

The WTS-Boston Chapter is offering a high school scholarship in the amount of $2,000. The winning recipient’s application is then forwarded to the WTS Foundation to be considered for the International WTS Transportation YOU High School Scholarship in the amount of $2,500

Lance Corporal Bradley J. Campus, USMC Memorial Scholarship Program

FOR SENIORS

The purpose of the program is to provide scholarships in Bradley’s name to students in the public school system in their senior year of high school who will be attending a state or nationally accredited college or university in the fall of 2025 or have joined the U.S. Armed Forces during their senior year in high school.

These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, an original essay, awards and recognition, and extracurricular and community service activities. Consideration will be given to those eligible applicants from all Lynn public high schools. Applications and all supporting materials must be received (hard copies) or emailed by Friday, 28 March 2025 by 5:00 EST and will be reviewed by the LCpl
Bradley Campus Memorial Scholarship Committee. This year we will award three (3) scholarships – each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000.00.

Bradley J. Campus was born in Lynn, MA on February 15, 1962. He attended Lynn English High School, and upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. While stationed overseas, he was thinking about the next stage of his life, and goals he had. Bradley desired to open his own bakery in the North End of Boston after serving in the military.

Unfortunately, his dreams never came true, because on 23 October 1983 Bradley was killed in the Beirut bombing by two (2) suicide bombers who drove a truck into the Marine Barracks. Lance Corporal Bradley Campus was one (1) of 241 American service members that were killed on that day.

Bradley was known as a person who possessed the qualities of kindness, integrity, dedication, dependability, loyalty, sincerity, seriousness, humor, independence, and was an overall intelligent young man. We are called to honor our veterans, and the Committee is honored to be able to offer this scholarship in his name.

Lynn English High School – Hall of Fame – Class of 2024

Lynn English High School is proud to announce its Hall of Fame – Class of 2024. The inductees are Anthony Anderson (2000), Daniel Connelly (1990), Joseph Crowley (1995), Allan Ditchfield (1955), Michelle Fabian (1984), Ryan Ferguson (1998), Alisa Fila (1984), John Hoffman, Deidre (Jackson) Roper (1995), Martha Jamieson (1984), John Langan (1948), Kara (Lunden) Migliozzi (1995), SgtMaj (retired) Kenneth Oswald, and William Rafuse (1968). Jeison Gonzalez (2004), who could not attend the 2022 ceremony, will also be recognized.

The induction ceremony will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the Harborview Ballroom at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers, Massachusetts from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Family, friends, classmates, teammates, and community members are welcome to attend. Tickets are $80.00 per person which includes a buffet dinner preceded by hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour. Program Ads/Congratulatory Messages cost $100.00 for full-page, $60.00 for ½ page, and $40.00 for ¼ page. Tickets and Ads can be purchased by cash, check, or money order in the Lynn English Main Office (50 Goodridge Street 01902) between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Program Ads must be purchased by October 24, and tickets must be purchased by October 31.
