Test Scores for Massachusetts State Colleges and Universities
For freshmen applicants to the University of Massachusetts and the state colleges of Massachusetts, the minimum grade point average (GPA) for admission is 2.00 (weighted). If your GPA is below 2.00, then your standardized test (SAT or ACT) scores will be an important factor in your admission. The lower your GPA is, the higher your SAT or ACT score needs to be. Please Note: Meeting these guidelines does not guarantee admission.

* Honors Programs and Nursing Programs have higher admissions standards.
Some schools may have alternative admissions programs. For example, the Learning Center at Salem State College recruits, supports and retains students of color, low-income, first-generation and/or educationally disadvantaged students who may not meet the admissions standards but have the potential and desire to succeed. They may be offered conditional acceptance through the A.I.D. / ACCESS Program or the Developmental Skills Program (DSP).
