Quest Bridge College Prep Scholars Program (for Juniors)

FOR JUNIORS

Applying to college can seem daunting, and the prospect of paying for it can seem even more overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be. The College Prep Scholars Program equips high-achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to apply to top colleges.

Awards for College Prep Scholars may include:
• A full scholarship to a college summer program hosted by Yale, Emory, UChicago, and more.
• Quest for Excellence Awards, such as $1,000 for a new laptop or other resources to help the student enhance their college application.
• Exclusive access to a QuestBridge National College Admissions Conference — an invite-only event featuring workshops and a college fair with our college partners.
• Personalized college essay feedback.
• Campus visits or other opportunities from QuestBridge college partners.
• Specialized guidance and resources for the college application process.
• Peer-to-peer support in an online community.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Class rank: Top 5-10% of graduating class. Earn primarily A’s in the most challenging courses available.
• Household income: College Prep Scholars typically come from households earning less than $65,000 annually for a typical family of four and have minimal assets.
• Personal Circumstances: Parents’ level of education: Many past College Prep Scholars are among the first generation in their family to attend a four-year college in the U.S. Activities, including home or family responsibilities: Participation in extracurricular, community, or other activities. Activities may include home or family responsibilities, such as part-time jobs to help pay bills, or caring for siblings if parents are absent or at work. Honors, awards, and achievements: Accomplishments and leadership roles in extracurricular or other activities. Personal traits: Strength in character and motivation to succeed.

FOR SENIORS

$10,000 scholarship ( $2500/year four-year college, $5000/year two-year college ) for a student pursuing a degree in Art or Music. Renewed only if student earns a 2.5 GPA at the end of each college semester.

Legibly complete this two-sided application and attach:

(1) copies of college Acceptance Letter and Financial Aid Award Letter,

(2) any document showing the cost of attendance, i.e., tuition, fees, room & board, etc.,

(3) the first page of your FAFSA Submission Summary which you received after submitting your FAFSA to the federal government.

(4) a transcript with 1st, 2nd & 3rd quarter grades. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

FOR SENIORS

  • Up to $5,000.00 for two years to support the cost of tuition for female graduating seniors who are pursuing a two-year degree, with preference for but not limited to, fields of study in Healthcare (i.e., nursing, lab technician, dental technician etc.), Education, Biotechnology, Computer Networking/Programming, and Engineering.
  • The scholarship is equally available to female students pursuing career focused education at a trade school or pursuing a credited certificate program.
  • Intended for low-income female students who would otherwise not be able to attend community college were it not for this scholarship.
  • The renewal would be based on maintaining a minimum of a B- average and providing ECCF with the transcript.

Application Requirements:

(1) Complete this application by legibly printing/typing in blue or black ink. If you’re able to print, complete, scan and save the application, then do so. Otherwise, open the WORD document, erase the underlined areas, type in the necessary information, and save it. Please do not type more than fits the allotted area.

(2) Attach copies of Financial Aid Award Letter/Email and Fall 2025 bill (if available)

(3) Attach the first page of your FAFSA Submission Summary if you completed the FAFSA; if you could not complete the FAFSA, you CAN still apply without this requirement

(4) Answer the following essay question in a less than 250 words, double-spaced response: From Your Heart:  In very few words, do you have a passion or anything else you would like us to know about you? Please describe it simply and from your heart.

(5) In only ONE email to your guidance counselor, email this application and all above requirements by 8:00 AM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Your guidance counselor will complete the evaluation on the last page upon receiving. Your guidance counselor will also attach a transcript with 1st, 2nd & 3rd quarter grades.

$3,000 scholarship ( $750/year four-year college, $1500/year two-year college ) “for deserving students from Lynn. Any academic or vocational endeavor that will help the recipient prosper in society.”

Cell Signaling Scholarships

FOR SENIORS

Cell Signaling Technology is currently offering eight scholarship opportunities worth $10,000 each, with an April 10, 2025 deadline. CST offers four Local Community Science Scholarships and four Racial Diversity in Science Scholarships. Students can apply for both scholarships, and the Local Community Scholarship will be considered first if a student qualifies for both. Both opportunities are available to graduating seniors who have committed to a STEM-related major at a 2 or 4-year accredited United States based college or university. Applicants must have or will complete an upper-level Science class. In addition, applicants must be either eligible for free/reduced lunch or be a first generation college student (first in their family).

The differences between the scholarship requirements are as follows:

Local Community Scholarship: Lynn, Salem, Peabody, Danvers, Beverly, or Gloucester.

Racial Diversity in Science Scholarship: Cities/Towns in Essex County, Massachusetts. Identify as a person of color (non-white)

This application is for seniors who have been accepted to college and hope to one day “give back” to Lynn English and its students. Applicants must be a son/daughter of a United States veteran and provide a copy of their parent’s DD 214 form, which can be obtained from Lynn City Hall.

Union Plus Scholarship

FOR SENIORS

Since 1991, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $5.6 million to students of union families. Over 4,100 union families have benefited from our commitment to higher education.

Award amounts:  $500 to $4,000.  These one-time cash awards are for study beginning in the Fall of 2025. Students may re-apply each year.

Award date:  May 31. During the first week of June award recipients will be notified by postal mail, and all applicants will be sent email notification.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Current and retired members of unions participating in any Union Plus program, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations) are eligible. Grandchildren are not eligible unless a legal dependent (as defined by IRS regulations).  At least one year of continuous union membership by the applicant, applicant’s spouse or parent (if applicant is a dependent). The one year membership minimum must be satisfied by May 31.
  • Members of participating unions from the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada are eligible.
  • The applicant must be accepted into a U.S. accredited college, university, community college, technical or trade school at the time the award is issued.  Awards must be used for the 2025 – 2026 school year.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply.

This program is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation, which is sponsored by Union Privilege.

Shell Technical Scholarship and Shell Incentive Fund Scholarship

FOR SENIORS

The Shell Technical Scholarship and Shell Incentive Fund Scholarship have been created to provide financial and career assistance to graduating high school seniors who have expressed an interest in the energy industry and demonstrated an aptitude in mathematics and science.

In each program, Shell will sponsor up to 20 one-year awards of $2,500 for selected graduating high school seniors enrolling in engineering or geosciences at universities identified by Shell.

These scholarship programs support Shell’s objective of helping to ensure a qualified workforce in engineering and geosciences disciplines in future years. Workforce development is one of the highest priorities at Shell. Competition for talent is growing and Shell will be at the forefront in identifying young people with the skills to succeed by assisting with scholarships and providing exposure to career opportunities at the company.
